Welcome 2 The Pance Party

Brick: Excuse me, Veronica?
Veronica Corningstone: Yes? What is it, Brick?
Brick: I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party.
Veronica Corningstone: Excuse me?
Brick: [struggling] The... party. With the... with the pants. Party with pants?
Veronica Corningstone: Brick, are you saying that there's a party in your pants and that I'm invited?
Brick: That's it.
Veronica Corningstone: Did Brian tell you to say this, Brick?
Brick: No. Yes. He did.
Veronica Corningstone: Okay. No. I don't want to go to a party in your pants.
Brick: Very well. Ian, would you like to go to a party in my pants?
Ian: No, Brick.
Brick: All right. Let's go.
[runs off, there is a sound of crashing off screen]
Brick: It's all right. I'm all right.

Chester French - C'mon (Pance Party Remix)

See you at the party!

The Go Find

One of my all-time favorite groups is the the electronica projectThe Go Find. Well, everyone out there seems to be as queasy in anticipation as me for the third release titled 'Everybody Knows It's Gonna Happen Only Not Tonight.' Apparently, the new album will be less electronic in comparison to "Miami" with more acoustic values but this shouldn't deter folks at all. The album was recorded over a period of six months in Brussels and Antwerp, each song built on a base of acoustic guitars and drums. The production is loaded with warm and melodic instrumentation. Be on the lookout for the new album in February.

Below is the self-titled single and 2 of my favorite tracks from the previous albums "Miami" & "Stars on The Wall."

The Go Find- Over The Edge
The Go Find- New Year
The Go Find- Everybody Knows It's Gonna Happen Only Not Tonight

French Horn Rebellon & Tigercity

French Horn Rebellion are the brotherly duo out of NYC via Wisconsin. FHB were completely unfazed by what was a disappointing turnout still brought the party to Orlando on Thursday. Beside their synth talents they proved they can entertain with Penn & Teller-esque chemistry. Band members splitting up only for a bathroom break, catchy french-horn solos and stage jumps into the audience to break it down with some of the livelier crowd.

Next up was Brooklyn's own Tigercity. So many comparisons can be made about these guys so I have no choice but to make my own. Here goes; shades of Hall & Oates meets Chromeo and in some cases as in "Fake Gold" you'd think you were listening to the Bee Gees sing the Rocky Soundtrack(Rocky IV of course). Listed on Rolling Stone's "Artist to Watch" in 07 detailing that early sounds were heavily synth'd before their move to NY bringing in the addition of a drummer and a guitarist. In this move it's evident that they have made themselves more pop friendly. Look for more from both these bands in the future.

French Horn Rebellion- Broken Heart
French Horn Rebellion- Up All Night

Tigercity- Fake Gold
Tigercity- Are You Sensation
Tigercity- Mallory

Depeche Mode

'Fragile Tension' was at best one of the higher points off Depeche Mode's latest album. There are however some unbelievable remixes. You won't find this song anywhere else. You might not find it here. We love Kris Menace too much though.

This belongs in some some stadium-sized raver scene. One where the lights make it feel like everything is moving slower than it really is as you move across the room. Although, it's more likely your are just having some out of body experience from the drugs you took earlier and wondering if your ever going to calm down. But, in that moment your focus shifts slightly to this remix you heard here and you decide this is the best night of your life. I hope i find it on a dance floor soon. Feel like my life might not be complete until then.

Case of the Mondays???

Steve Aoki with Kanye West

2 upbeat and filthy-good remixes to get your week started off right. This will increase the intensity of your evening Spinning Class workout and/or Monday binge drinking session immensely.

Kid Cudi - Pursuit of Hapiness (Steve Aoki Dance Remix) - Steve Aoki's MySpace

Lady Gaga - Paparazzi (Redlight Remix) - Redlight's MySpace

As a bonus, here is a video made to go to Drew Copeland of Sister Hazel's Little Like Heaven. The song is about Gainesville, FL and surrounding areas, and the images in the video depict some sweet locations in our surrounding area, and some that are not so much.

Fear of Tigers

So here's the situation. I'm Finally getting around to checking the in-box and listening to the Fear of Tigers debut release that was so graciously sent over to us this week. Benjamin already has previous remixes of The Sound of Arrows, Anoraak, Visitor and The Infadels. Here are some of the brighter spots off the album and a couple of remixes you may or may not have heard yet. Turducken is just ok

It's surprising to me is how lazy a human being you can become over thanksgiving(I.E. me). What is also amazing is how much can happen in the blogesphere in such short time. Tried my best to catch up on recent happenings and WHAT THE!? a Jared Leto and Kanye collabo..Really? The result is well, if anything depressing, feel like they are both two dramatic bros that got together just to vent to one another about being famous and their difficulties with expression in their music. "Now having said that"(CYE ref.) it may be a slight improvement for '30 Seconds To Mars'.

Lykki Li can haunt your dreams with that voice. She is one of the few real singers today with such a unique instrument. Liking this cover of the song previously made famous by 'The Shirelles'.

We had to post some Wallpaper and here is their latest offering. Gettin' Drip is the second single off the Oakland group's latest album, 'Doodoo Face. Here is Wallpaper on their new vid; "A lot of time and money was spent on this video," Singh tells Spinner. "We had originally projected a budget of $0.00 but due to some unforeseen last minute expenses, we ended up paying $11.82 (and this came out of pocket, mind you)."
Calvin Harris' Flashback was easily the best song off his album and Goldie killed this remix really by just keeping it simple, like something from High Contrast. Kinda getting tired of talking about the music, getting a lil laze, maybe its the post-thyrotrophin hangover from all the leftovers. We'll try and get some more posting up this week.. I promise. How was your thanksgiving?

30 Seconds To Mars- Hurricane (feat. Kanye West)
The Boxer Rebellion- Semi-Automatic(FC Kahuna Remix)
Calvin Harris- Flashback(Goldie Remix)
Owl City- Fireflies(Etubbs & Trillbass Remix)
We Have Band- Honey Trap (La Matos Remix)
Wallpaper- Gettin Drip
Priors-What You Need (Hey Champ Mix)
Terry Poison- Comme Ci Comme Ca (The Twelves Remix)
Cut Copy- So Haunted (Knightlife Sun-Soaked Reprise Remix)

Monarchy

Monarchy will be another important piece of the ever-expanding electro-pop scene. That is if they take to the studio and follow the same formula of this catchy dream-wave demo. This song builds slowly with a airy synth pattern until your fully mesmerized then gives a guitar lick that drives the song into another dimension.

Monarchy is a blip on the radar that you should be looking out for. Def Starr gives the already classic song a proper makeover.

Jay-Z - Run This Town (O-GOD Remix)

I've been diggin this tune for a couple of days now. I love mixing songs with drum patterns like this one. Can't find anything on the O-GOD, though, so no myspace link for ya. Hopefully, we'll see some more of this guy soon.

Russians

Oh how I do love me a nice White Russian. Something about the sound of that milky ice hitting the side of the glass. And, I'm talking the drink of course not some mail order bride from Moscow people. Well, without further ado let me introduce to you todays talent. The Tapeaters and Upstation are 2 different up and coming artists out of Russia. These two Ruskies provide that 80s new-wave sound that we love with huge pop influences aligned with their Moog synth's. These are all proven unbeatable elements in Electro-Pop these days. Have yourself a listen and even a download or two. Enjoy.

The Tapeaters- They Are Coming
The Tapeaters- Watch Your Step

Upstation- Connect
Upstation- Something Special

Ah, what great weather we had today in Gainesville. High of 74 without a cloud in the sky. Should be a great night to go out and get loose. To help put ya in the mood, here is a track I came across the other day. Kids at The Bar usually provide a high energy electro energy to their remixes and this one is no different. It reminds me alot of a Designer Drugs tune, but I can't put my finger on which one.

Pony Pony Run Run - Hey You (Kolt13 Remix)

With school (very) briefly slowing down for me, I got a chance to scourge the internets for some choice tunes. Be sure to check back daily, I'll be droppin 'em one by one for the next few days.

Let's start things off with a bang. Here we got Kolt13's take on Pony Pony Run Run's "Hey You." I had seen Kolt13 around the web, but never really took him seriously. After this remix, best believe I will.

Amanda Blank - Shame on Me (Viking Remix)

I've blogged about Amanda Blank before, but haven't hit yall up with some Viking knowledge yet. This DJ/producer burst onto the scene with his hugely popular remix of Kid Cudi's "Dat New New." While the production was a bit lacking, you could tell the talent was there. Now, several remixes later, every song Viking puts his hands on shoots to the top of the Hypem charts.

This past Friday, Viking spun with none other than DJ Jazzy Jeff in NYC at the infamous Webster Hall. No doubt the kid dropped his latest piece to start the night off right.

Amanda Blank - Shame on Me (Viking Remix)

P.S. The video is a cut from his unreleased remix of Shwayze's "Get U Home." I personally can't wait for that shizzle to drop--a dancefloor destroyer.

Penguin Prison

Everything out of the Neon Gold camp is coincidentally "gold", and this NYC artist isn't much different.

Penguin Prison first became blog-worthy with his popular remix "I'm Not A Robot" by Marina and The Diamonds. Well with his latest 'A Funny Thing' it's comforting to know that this is only a sample of what is to come from his debut album set to release November 23rd.

Weezy/Wale

The much hyped mixtape 'No Ceilings' from Lil Wayne finally hit internet portals everywhere on Halloween and is getting much buzz. Per usual on a mixtape he has ripped big hits from the past few months and spits catchy metaphor after catchy metaphor. Not sure if he fully hit the mark but might as well give it a listen cus he'll be in jail for a minute. After giving it a full listen I'm feeling pretty, pretty confident that I have plucked some of the brighter spots off the album for you. Wale's upcoming debut album 'Attention Deficit' drops the 10th of November but you no we got it. It was inevitable this thing would leak so if your a real hip hop head be sure to support this guy when the album drops but until then enjoy these tracks.

Lil Wayne- Watch My Shoes

Lil Wayne- Swag Surf

Lil Wayne- Sweet Dream Ft. Nicki Minaj

Lil Wayne- Cool N Dre Ft. Birdman

Miami Horror - Sometimes

What up, yall? I know the posts have been sporadic, but school can be a bitch sometimes. Anyway, I've been jammin' to this tune for a couple weeks now and have been liking it more and more.

Miami Horror always provides a great 80's party vibe in his songs, and this one is no different. I know it's a little old in blog time (like a month, lol), but I want to make sure I really like a song before I recommend it you, my loyal followers...wherever you are...

Junior Boys

On Monday night in what was a quiet and deserted downtown Orlando the Junior Boys served up something exceptional for an undersized crowd in a small venue @ The Social. The synth-pop delight duo out of Ontario quickly let their talent be known as front man Jeremy Greenspan put the crowd in a melodic toe-tapping hypnosis with Parallel Lines. The show opener, a song that is a metaphor between two lovers and memorized words is the song that makes you wish you were cool and did just that for over 5 minutes. From the surface it hard to imagine that these average whitebread canucks would immediately inspire some sort of kinetic sensuality, but that’s indeed what these guys are about, and that’s exactly what they did. The Junior Boys blend heart felt vocals with a style that reflects early 80s pop to early 90s R&B and dance. Just as they emanated sexuality in their sound their was always the tension for change lurking towards a climax. Although, that climax often didn’t happen it still had many looking like convulsing monkeys by the stage. There was also some subtleties in the set heard in the song ‘Teach Me How To Fight’ the song that created a fan in me in 05’and ‘Birthday’ which was dedicated to keyboardist Matt Didemus(his bday) who remained unanimated in concentration with hardly a glimpse at the audience.

In a sense this show was special for me being in my own backyard especially after an attempt to see a show that never happened in NYC due to 2 failed mixers earlier this summer. I wish more electro-pop groups toured venues like this one. So now I sit back only to wonder if Junior Boys will ever come back to Orlando. Will O-town ever embrace or recognize when such great acts like this make themselves so accessible. Seems like if more people knew Junior Boys they will come back. Kinda like being in the minority of knowing about artists that are this kewl.

Partial Set-List/Highlights of the show (inaccuracy may be owed to 13 consumed PB’rs)

NightWaves- Fascination

Here at Four Oh 7 we don't often get around to covering a lot of low-fi/dreamwave, but it's not for lack of love for this particular genre. So we understand a mention of this particular duo is probably long overdue. Sitting on the forefront of dreamwave music enter the artist NightWaves. NightWaves are on the label Binary, a record label based in LA with intentions of bringing songwriting back to the dance floor.

The third single from the compilation album LA lights is the song Fascination, "we really see this song as a maturation and a growth as a group. It's our favorite to date, and hopefully a taste of whats to come in the future". This track is full of emotion with vocals transported right out of the 80s and is virtually begging for an artist like Junkie XL to put a pulsating twist on it. Junkie is known for Drawing out the vocals and lengthening out the chorus and does it to a T here. Bit Funk, an artist they have previously worked with was able to add a more punchy and bouncy feel to Fascination which makes this one another standout. Lastly, is Keenhouse's 80s synthed out remix(the snths sounds like a excerpt from a Doogie Howser ep) which might have your feet and other appendages dragging you onto the dance floor against all remaining will.

Bag Raiders Mixtape

To all you loyal followers out there, I apologize for our lack of posts as of late. But as a special gift for being so patient, I am posting a 28 minute mix produced by my favorite Australian blokes, Bag Raiders. Included is a nice collection of fairly easy electro that plays well at a party or in the background as you clean up after a party.

Good Music

Couple songs hot off the presses, and a couple that aren't so much. We've told you about Ellie Goulding in the past, well here she is again with 'Under The Sheets' which aired for the first time in the UK about two weeks ago(kinda over being 2nd fiddle to the UK's good music) but has finally reached your speakers. Plus, Mr. Hudson has released his all you can handle Auto-Tuned album 'Straight No Chaser(still kinda fire wont lie). Feel like he's probably the UK T-Payne. Really like the strings in this single, make sure to check out the rest of the album. The other tracks are sort of filler i suppose. In My Lifetime from the Streets is Watching before he started catering to the pop world is one smooth jam. 'Don't Change' is one of my new favorite songs and I don't mean just songs from the 80s(dont ask). From INXS to Hov, Have we proved were eclectic yet?

Dragonette - Fixin to Thrill (Villians Remix)

I've really been enjoying this tune all week. Villians once again add some sick electro energy to the track. Also, I love how DJ-friendly this song is--Villians provide a great intro and outro featuring some chopped vocals (which I am a sucker for) without making the song too long. Oh and the breakdown at 2:30 is orgasmic.

Big Boi

Some insight on the new album from Maurice Garland. Big Boi may not be signed with Def Jam yet so if that deal falls through I still cant see it effecting the success of this album. Big Boi's Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty is complete and will be out soon. After its release around the holidays people will have no choice but to stop considering him second rank to 3-Stacks. Couple exclusives off the album here. Their Hot Fire, Dylon Dylon Dylon.

Tonight I'm pumped to attend the first ever Hype Machine Monday in downtown Gainesville, FL. It should be a refreshing night with tons of amazing music. Hypem.com's GTMcKnight will be there helping divvy up all the pumpkin spice beers. If you're in Gainesville feel free to swing by, and if you've never been to the Hypem website...do so NOW.

The track of the day is currently (10/12/09) #1 on the Hypem Popular Charts:

Mayer Hawthorne - Green Eyed Love (Classixx Remix)

Thursday--the last day before the last day of the work week. The penultimate workday. Friday's eve. Or, for those still in college, Friday.

Whatever you call it, it's a good day to relax. Enter Classixx's, um, downtempo-elctro-house-dreamwave production and Mayer Hawthorne's hazy, soul-infused vocals--a musical tranquilizer.

Emancipator

As Floridians we sometimes find it hard to understand what it means to have a seasonal change. There are no clear or concise lines when it comes to the first days of Autumn that i notice except the sun begins to set somewhat earlier. Our falls are comparable to most summers for anyone in the Northwest. Although, people still feel they should embrace this change or even celebrate it. Cold weather or not, leaving the summer behind has always been associated with feelings of being melancholy and looking inward. I think if there was a soundtrack for this time to help you to embrace fall Emancipator would be on it. (Ironically fitting name) "Soon it will be cold enough" was originally only released in Japan but has been re-released here in the states so check it out. Its hard not to love this music mixing hip-hop beats to delicate guitar strings and piano. You can hear heavy influences throughout this album from Aphex Twin to RJD2. You can go a long time and not hear a song as good as the remix he put together of 'Shook'. Enjoy

Take a listen in the media player and let us know what you think in the comment box. It's finally not sweltering here in Florida, so I'm gonna take off and get outside. Have a good day.

Chromeo - Night By Night Chromeo (pictured at top) has just released their first single from the new album, Night by Night, and it is Funktastic.

Chromeo - Tenderoni (MSTRKRFT Remix) - In honor of Chromeo here are two great remixes, this one is of a Chromeo original...

Vampire Weekend - Kids Don't Stand a Chance (Chromeo Remix) - ...and this one a remix of Vampire Weekend by them. This is in my top 3 songs of all time, just an fyi.

Deadmau5 - Strobe - 10 minutes of pure gravy off the Mau5's (Mouse's) new album.

Deadmau5 - To Play Us Out (feat. Bill O'Reilly) - Listen all the way through...LOL. Deadmau5 utilizing a few samples from the classic Bill O'Reilly blow up

Medina - You and I (Deadmau5 Remix) - In honor of Mau5's new album, here is a sexy remix of Medina's You and I by him.

Harlem Shakes - Strictly Game (Kids at the Bar Remix) - I'm calling it now...Kids At The Bar are gonna be huge. Keep an eye out. Great track.

Eazy-E - Real Muthaphuckkkin' Gs (Dskotek Remix) - OK, this might be my favorite song on the list right now! I've never heard a song quite like this one. Just aggressive craziness for 3 minutes, a sickkk Eazy-E flow, then get nasty again to close out the song.

Shiny Toy Guns - Starts With One (Classixx Remix) - Another Classic Classixx

Lady Gaga - Paparazzi (Stuart Price Remix) - Stuart Price is a legend amongst producers/DJs. He used to produce for Madonna, now he's with GaGa. Is GaGa the next Madonna? Probably. Is this track tight? Definitely.

Chiddy Bang feat. Passion Pit - Truth - They're Chiddy Bang, and they're pretty much amazing.

DJ Kronic - Cocaine (Intro) - Called an intro, but this is a great track to slide into any Party Playlist

Santigold feat. Andre 3000 and Bun B - You'll Find a Way Player (Terry Urban Southerngold Remix) - The whole Terry Urban Southerngold mixtape is extraordinary. This is the best track from it.

Shoops - Do Me, Work It (Thunderheist Jerk It Cover) - Just a fun, upbeat party song from the (white) Montreal rap duo.

Phoenix - Love Like a Sunset - What a unique song. A long intro, but do yourself a favor and listen to all of it.

Bon Jovi and Kid Cudi - Prayer N' Night (The Hood Internet Mashup) - The Hood Internet is hands down the best consistently good mashup talent out there right now. This is one of their better tracks as of late.

(Odissi - Empty Vodka Bottles (Pyramid Remix) - Empty Vodka Bottles. Empty Vodka Bot bot bot.

Steroheroes - Juke Dem Hoes

Phonat

Phonat is a London based, Italian Born super DJ who is somewhat new on arrival. Supposedly standing 7ft tall he has an immediate fan in me, and having just released his self-titled debut album in such a short amount of time only makes his appeal even more evident. I first heard this remix of 'Set Me Free' from Mike Skinners Beat Stevie radio show and haven't been able to avoid it since.

Solid Weekend

Very successful weekend. I went 100% in fantasy football leagues (pending 3 points from DeAngelo Williams tonight), 100% in blacking out every night out in Orlando, discovered about 4 new TV shows I need to start watching, tried some good scotch, and I've accomplished absolutely nothing today. It's been a perfect day to catch up on the backed-up list of songs I've been meaning to sample. After spending several hours on the couch, listening very intently to around 100 songs just for you, I bring you the best songs from this weekend:

Benny Blanco

Michael Jackson - Ain't No Sunshine (Benny Blanco Remix) - (MP3)

Big Boi

Big Boi feat. Too $hort and George Clinton - Fo Yo Sorrows - (MP3)

Lil Jon!?

Lil Jon - I Do (Pance Party Remix) - (MP3) - Party-Recommended

Jack Penate

Sunday is always a busy day for me--fantasy football and homework. Oh, woes me...Anyway, I wanted to highlight a song that was posted earlier this month. While my fellow blogger felt it was sufficient to simply list this song in a "random day of awesomeness", I must respectfully disagree. This song deserves its very own post.

The song--"Pull My Heart Away." The artist--"Jack Penate." The rub--a beautiful indie-rock song that gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it because it makes me envision it being performed live in a dark arena, and near the end of the song when the chorus is being chanted the music cuts out and all that continues to carry the chorus is the sound of the crowd clapping and singing in sweaty unison.

Jack Penate - Pull My Heart Away

And as a bonus, a remix of Jack's song "Be the One" that shows ol' Jacky Boy can and should be utilized in the hip hop scene. Ten to one Kanye scoops him up for a guest spot on an upcoming song.

First Song off Dr. Dre's Detox and Majestic

Finally! A song off Dr. Dre's long-awaited Detox.....well, kind of. Dr. Dre has long been accused of Ghost Writing (a term in the hip-hop community used for when another rapper writes your verse for you). This is a very derogatory term amongst hip-hop heads. P. Diddy notoriously lost a lot of street cred when word of him ghostwriting got out. Lately tracks have been surfacing to prove that the rumors of Dr. Dre using ghostwriters to be true. First the track off Eminem's latest CD 'Crack a Bottle' had an early version released with Eminem rapping Dre's verse for him, and now the first song off the Detox album has been leaked, but with....Ludacris rapping the verse for Dre. While this may seem ludicrous at first, it isn't that damaging to Dr. Dre's career. Hell, writers of music in all genres have employed this tactic throughout time; Elvis didn't write anything he sang. These tracks with one rapper doing a verse for another rapper's album are called 'reference tracks'. It appears that Ludacris is the ghostwriter for Dre on this track and he went ahead and gave him a 'reference' verse to help him out. While normally this wouldn't be exciting, Detox is THE most hyped rap album of all time, and after all...it's Ludacris, we're not talking about some no name ghostwriter. The song sounds great at first listen, but is definitely a DJ cut, and not quite studio quality. Here is your first (real) taste of Dr. Dre's Detox!

Ludacris for Dr. Dre - OG'z Them (Prod. By Dr. Dre) - (MP3)

(After you get the song in iTunes, Right Click on the Song: Click Song Info: Options: Start at 0:20. Gets rid of the DJ Nonsense at the beginning. Hopefully I'll have a better quality rip for you soon)

The PR Rep for 'Sound of Arrows' just dropped us a track for another one of his artists 'Majestic'. This rapper will draw strong comparison to Wiley...which is a good thing. I really enjoy this track. We're told Majestic is an MC who cut his teeth on the UGK circuit performing with CKP, EZ, Logan Sama and The Wideboys who made him there official MC. Together they have made an Electro tinged slice of pop brilliance called 'In The VIP' which you can listen to here. The track we bring you today is a freestyle he sent remixing La Roux's Bulletproof ... and the track is proper rank. Enjoy.

Songs of Entourage

This season of HBO's Entourage if you have been following at all you should know has been legit. Highs, lows, hookups and panty-raids, and of course Johnny Drama. I have always thought the music placement in the show has been spot-on. And I was reminded of this when credits rolled recently and I heard Yeasayer- Sunrise. Overall, this season has hit the mark. Whether its dropping some Eazy- E after an episode or sneaking in some Metric into Turtle's ride to class. It's the little touches you see. I've delivered some of the songs that made the cut for my top songs of the season. Also, a Hey Champ Mix. You can find the Metric remix if you look back a few posts.

Wallpaper.

If I was cool enough to have an entourage, Wallpaper would be in it.

This remix brings New York in the 80's straight to your doorstep, and you gotta love the lyrics--I'm trapped in the underground, east side on my way downtown. Bright lights hypnotize, blue pills dilate my eyes. I'll ride the chandelier, through the roof right off the pier. Swim home in a stranger's bed, cool myself in a stranger's sweat.

Music For Animals - Nervous in New York (Wallpaper Remix)

Although summer is technically fading away, it's still scorching in Gainesville. So this weekend with the Gators playing on the road the pool scene should be in full effect. This original by Wallpaper is off his new album that dropped yesterday.

Fear of Tigers

London's Fear of Tigers debut album is due out Summer 2009, and though Fear of Tigers is one of the most consistent remixers, I don't quite know what to expect. FoT can take the cheesiest song and make it a banger. Most of his songs are upbeat and feel-good, utilizing the sexiest synth sounds out there. The remix of Dawn of the Dead by Does it Offend You? Yeah? is a very subtle departure from the original, which is usually a quip of mine. What is the point of remixing a song if you're not going to completely stand it up on its head? However, FoT finds a way to deliver. I just got my hands on a brand new remix of Into the Clouds by Sound of Arrows...I hope this instrumental is a taste of what is to come on Fear of Tigers album. Speaking of Tigers in London, next time you visit I highly recommend Tiger Tiger nightclub in Picadilly Circus. All of the songs below are completely awesome. Enjoy.

Little Dragon

Machine Dreams
is the newest release from the artist Little Dragon, an electronic music band based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Little Dragon consists of Swedish-Japanese singer Yukimi Nagano and 3 others that have been friends since high school. They hit pop success in the 5th season of Grey's Anatomy with the song 'Twice'. Their second album has taken a different direction. It has many influences ranging from R&B and Folk to Electronic and Synth music(think Depeche Mode meets Prince). All these influences were fused together in their sophomore album which should surely extend their reach even further.

Yukimi Nagano- "these days, humans seem more and more like machines, and as technology evolves, machines feel more human and it becomes fuzzy and beautiful and science fiction-ish. We feel dependent on our machines to create and live, and their sounds reflect us"

Flight of the Conchords and Love

Valentine's Day might be half a year away, but for some reason it feels like love is in the air today. Everywhere I look, I'm stumbling upon hysterical, romantic parody content...and I'm loving it. I haven't had a chance to get my hands on their full CD yet, but I did have a few Flight of the Conchords tracks from their upcoming album sent my way. I love the show, but I think that I might love these tracks more. Their latest CD, I Told You I Was Freaky, is probably capitalizing on the timing of the release of Lonely Island's Incredibad, but rightfully so. The market is primed for some good self-degrading, R&B parodies...and FOTC delivers with 'Hurt Feelings' and 'We're Both in Love With a Sexy Lady'. I love the dynamic duo in 'We're Both in Love With a Sexy Lady'; bouncing lines back and forth similar to Usher and R.Kelly in Same Girl. I thought my day was made after hearing these two tracks, but then the icing on the cake came in the form of this video:

I'm guessing this was the eHarmony of the 80s. These dudes are priceless. (Are you my Goddess?)
